Another blow has been struck against Ghost Rider!
As if the movie didn’t bomb hard enough now the creator of the characters, Gary Friedrich, has sued Marvel (and anyone involved in the production of the movie ) with 21 violations due to how the movie was produced and marketed.
The basic idea is that he claims that all copyrights from Marvel reverted to him in 2001 because Stan Lee’s Magazine Management (which became Marvel Entertainment) never bothered to register Ghost Rider with the Copyright Office.
Most interestingly he is claiming that Marvel has wasted the Ghost Rider name because they failed to “properly utilize and capitalize” the character.
I guess we’ll just wait and see how this turns out.
