Mike Mitchell, an artist out of Cheeseland USA, has a great piece of art on his blog: Batman as a middle-class Average Joe.

So I havent done any art for myself in about 7 months. (I do plenty at work!) I’ve been wanting to do a Batman piece for weeks now, and I finally got around to it.

The idea is that this is a Middle Class Batman. Its still Bruce, and his parents were still murdered, but they were never rich, and he still ended up becoming Batman…but with a bit of a budget.

I think this is a great concept, something that I’d pick up if DC ever did an Elseworlds about this: a poorer Batman.  Because, seriously, how much do you think Bruce spends on Batarangs in a year?
